The
Michael Crosses, Kirk Michael, Isle of Man.
"Runic
Cross, Kirk Michael." From a "Magic Lantern" Slide owned by Martin Cregeen.
The photograph was probably taken in the late 1890's.
The cross is now inside the church with many others from the parish.
The church now houses the largest group of crosses of the Norse period
in the Island, as well as some Celtic examples.
Gaut's Cross, The Dragon Cross, Joalf's Cross and the Crucifixion Cross
are the most famous crosses to be seen here.
