Rushen Abbey 2001 - Dig Diary
Day 3 - Friday 22nd June, 2001

Looking down on our "wall". Do the levels slope from right to left?

View from the east. Most of the "chocolate" soil has been trowelled
away.

1.30pm and the sun is out!

Looking down the full length of the trench to our bit.

Helen's square socket hole.

Day 4 - Saturday 23rd June, 2001.

A different trench! Here are 2 legs and a few bits of feet (the odd
bits at the top). Top right are the 2 small digging implements,
below them is my 3 inch trowel. The lower leg bones on the right
are just starting to be uncovered

A few hours later and a gentle spray of water, and I've got the rest
of the lower leg.

Richie and Helen hard at work just beyond the feet of my skeleton.

FORWARD TO NEXT DAY
